Powerful Instrument In Private Speech For Self Regulating

Self-regulation means development of the self of an individual by exercising self-control and modifying the self of an individual. One must be open to changes and must adapt to the changes in the environment of the individual. Self of the individual is the guide and philosopher and watch the every close movement and are its silent observer at times. Self-regulation is very necessary and aids in the building of a child.

Private speech is the method of talking aloud, giving voice to the hidden and the real emotions of the people. Words and speech since times of yore have been given emphasis. Words have force and might so one must be careful of his or her speech as it has the power of hurting others. The words once said cannot be taken back, so an individual must always be careful of what he says. If the private speech of an individual is in effective the chances of its marring the self-regulation is very high. If the private speech of the child is irrelevant, the chances of the child progressing are negligible; they hardly engage themselves in the goal-oriented tasks and are a complete nuisance for the class. Their social skills are shoddily affected.

Inner voice aids in the development of the self as it enables an individual to realize the true and the real self and uniting with the self. Inner voice enables an individual to realize the hidden potential and the inherent capabilities of an individual.

Private speech is the verbal expression of our desires and pent up emotions. Thinking aloud, commonly known as private speech is necessary for our early learning and building of our character. While we are children, the private speech is personalized, but as we grow this private speech takes the shape of the communication with other people. The importance of private speech cannot be sidelined as even when we grow up at times we feel the need of communicating privately. For instances, when an individual is going through the bad phase or some demanding situation crops up it is necessary to interact and the there is resurfacing of the private speech. Private speech is the voice of our gestures and thought process. Private speech aids an individual to understanding of the self.

Private speech aids in learning and it includes scheduling, scrutinizing and guiding our actions and gestures. The more we strain our brain; the better is its output. Learning through private speech includes four steps, namely learning by rote the words, which help in building your vocabulary. The other application is the ability to understand and dramatize poetry. The next being the capability of reading the texts loud and editing the papers. The last application is to try and reach out to some solution through a math problem.

It is always better to pent out the within emotions for better self-regulation. As if an individual have some grudges and rancor, the development of the self would be hampered as then the negativity inculcates within. Private speech even at times can reduce our performance as we only give voice to what we experience for the first time and are puzzling or challenging and fail to give voice to what we already know. Private talking aids in the relieving the negative and downbeat thought of an individual.

An individual must ensure that there are no excommunicated emotions or feelings for anybody. The person must be courageous enough to face the challenge and give voice to true self of the individual. This makes the self free from any guilt and helps in its building.
